Book Review

If books were edible, this would be your menu of choice. A menu that helps you deviate from the 2 burgers for £3 option and tuck straight in to the pompous "Tarte aux fraises" of books.

This book heaps great expectations on itself before you even read it.

In the first page, you have a letter from the editor to the reader saying how she thinks it's one of the best book she's ever published. Before even that though the synopsis boasts a story greater than most, but wont even tell you what the novel is about other than the "Beach scene is horrific" and that this is one of the best books you'll ever read so they dont want to ruin the surprise. They also go on to say you WILL want to recommend it to a friend.

Well in answer to their synopsis - yes the beach scene is horrific - so much so in fact that I looked away from the page (as if it were a horrificly graphic scene on TV); and yes it is one of the best books I have ever read (not the best, but certainly close to it).

It's hard to sum up really, the ending leads you to think it will dissapoint but then in the dieing pages
